Planning a Visit to KSRCA for Pickleball

KSRCA stands for the Karnataka State Racquets and Cricket Association, not to be confused with the state cricket body that runs the stadium next door. It sits in the heart of the city close to Cubbon Park and the MG Road area. That central position is one of its biggest advantages for players coming from different parts of Bengaluru. It also means traffic around the stadium can be heavy, especially on evenings when a cricket match or large event is on nearby.

Getting there

The Namma Metro Purple Line serves the Cubbon Park and MG Road stations, both within a short walk or auto ride of the stadium area. Taking the metro is usually less stressful than driving, because parking near Chinnaswamy fills up quickly and roads may be restricted on match days. If you do drive, leave extra time and check whether any stadium events are scheduled that day.

What to bring

  • Non-marking court shoes with good lateral support. Running shoes are built for forward motion and make quick side-steps at the kitchen line riskier.
  • Water and electrolytes. Bengaluru's climate is milder than much of India, but afternoons in March to May can still be hot, and humidity rises during the monsoon.
  • Your own paddle if you have one. If you are still choosing, our paddle guide explains weight, grip size and core materials.
  • A towel and a light layer for cooler early mornings.

Timing and court etiquette

Early mornings and evenings tend to be the most popular playing windows, so booking or arriving early helps. Court access, fees and any guest rules are set by the venue itself, so confirm current arrangements directly with the venue before you go. At shared open-play sessions, the usual pickleball custom is to place your paddle in the waiting rack and rotate in by turn. Call the score clearly before each serve, and make line calls generously on your own side.

Taking the next step

Once you are comfortable with rallies, structured play is the quickest way to improve. Look through our leagues for level-based competition, or check upcoming events for socials and clinics around the city.
